Patience paid off

16 September 2012

City assistant Steve Parkin was pleased to see the Bantams eventually get their rewards from this Saturday's home encounter with Barnet.

After a quiet opening period, City visibly appeared to step up the tempo after the restart, with three goals within ten minutes early in the second period proving enough for a comfortable victory.

Parkin said: "We're delighted by the result, without a doubt, no game is ever easy in this division.

"The win now gives us three on the spin at home, something is important for everyone at the football club.

"In the first half I thought we were a little bit lacklustre towards the end (of the half). I felt we started the game bright enough, just perhaps needed that early goal.

"Credit must go to Barnet though, the made it very hard for us to break them down. They put everyone behind the ball with the exception of (Jon) Nurse in top.

"We showed a great deal of patience, however, and the early goal in the second half obviously helped. Overall I thought we thoroughly deserved the victory."
