Rotherham United 4 Bradford City 0

The Bantams left The New York Stadium on their first visit, empty handed this afternoon, with 3 first half goal setting The Millers on their way to 3 points.

With barely a minute on the clock, Michael O'Connor gave Rotherham the lead, the Northern Irishman strolled forward from midfield before lashing a low 25 yard shot beyond Duke and into the bottom corner to send the home faithful into raptures.

The Bantams almost equalised soon after, when Luke Oliver's places shot is palmed away by Scott Shearer, with the follow up shot from Kyel Reid deflected over for a corner

City produce another half chance for an equaliser through Nahki Wells, when Hanson's flick on sends him chasing after the loose ball; the Bermudian's shot from an angle is lashed narrowly over.

Parkinson's men were pretty much camped in Rotherham's half when former Bantam Gareth Evans doubled The Millers' advantage against the run of play. Ben Pringle's cross is narrowly missed by the head of Kayode Odejayi, and the unmarked Evans smashes home from 10 yards, before unfortunately, celebrating in front of the 2,200 city fans.

Kyel Reid's in swinging cross around 5 minutes later almost caught Scott Shearer out, coming back off the crossbar.

In the 34h minute the game was put to bed by the impressive Ben Pringle; he evaded a couple of challenges outside the area, before curling a shot off the post and into the back of the net for 3-0

Nahki Wells had a goal chalked off for offside after he bundled in the rebound from Nathan Doyle's blocked shot.

At the break Steve Evans' Rotherham were cruising the Yorkshire Derby with a 3 goal lead, much to the disappointment of the huge travelling support.

City started the second half quickly, seeking an early goal, and Reid almost clawed one back in the 48th minute when his venomous shot from outside the area, fizzed narrowly over the bar with Shearer completely motionless.

Former Barnsley forward Kayode Odejayi almost made it 4-0 not long after when his goal bound header was cleared off the line by Gary Jones, after Sharps' headed pull back.

The game begins to fade away slightly late on with Hanson missing a chance of a consolation; his half volley a yard or so wide.

With 10 minutes to go, Duke has to be alert to beat away O'Connor's long range shot and denying him a brilliant 2nd goal.

With only 4 minutes left, in what has been a fiery Yorkshire derby, in a near full New York Stadium; Gareth Evans grabs his 2nd of the afternoon. Odejayi does well to find him out wide before he cut inside to drill home his side's 4th and complete a a comprehensive victory over his former employers.
