City boss Phil Parkinson was delighted to be able to reflect on plenty of positives post-match after his Bantams side completed a comfortable away victory over Oxford United this Saturday.
Second half goals from Andrew Davies and Nahki Wells - the pair's third each of the season - helped City on their way to a deserved first win on the road in the league this season.
The win was City's third in a row following recent back-to-back home successes and moves them up to joint second alongside Exeter City and Port Vale in the early League 2 table.
Parkinson said: "It was a good, solid, professional performance from us today. It was spot on from the lads. It's a great feeling, it feels great to win away.
"There was a lot of effort put in today and there are some tired legs in the dressing room but it (the dressing room) is buzzing after this one.
"You have to push yourself physically and mentally to win away from home, and I felt we did that today.
"We had a chat with the lads on Thursday and we said that we felt this game could be a pivotal one for us.
"Up until today, we hadn't collected much on the road in the league this season despite showing at Watford and Notts County (in the Capital One Cup) that we had the qualities to do so.
"We basically asked the players to list all the different aspects they felt was needed to get the win.
"That list of important things they mentioned, we just put it up on the wall in the dressing room today and that was our team-talk because they'd (the players) had already said it.
They had already said what they felt was needed to win the game.
"What was so pleasing was that it's easy to just say things and voice your opinions at team meetings, you then have to put that into practice.
"To a man, they all did that today.
"We came here fully aware that Oxford had lost their last four so we knew they were going to have a real go at us.
We knew for the first half hour they were going to have a real go and try to get the crowd behind them.
"We also knew that if we could see that period out, however, then there could very well be an element of nervousness creep through into their play given their recent results.
"We knew exactly what to expect today and it was up to us to exploit that, and I felt we did today."
