Connell looking for more

17 September 2012

In-form City striker Alan Connell understandably says he'll be out for more goals tomorrow night when Phil Parkinson's men entertain Morecambe.

After coming off the bench to rescue a point for City at Accrington Stanley with his maiden goal for the club, Connell then celebrated his first start on home soil with his second goal in two games against Barnet at the weekend.

Connell, who also found the net in a behind-closed-doors match at Sheffield Wednesday in the build up to the Accrington game, said: "I was delighted to score at Accrington, especially as it turned out to be an important goal for us.

"It was great to then follow that up with my first home start for the club against Barnet. I was thrilled to be able to cap it off with my first home goal and, most importantly, we got all three points from the game.

"The main thing now is to try and get another win tomorrow night (against Morecambe) - that will be the thing that will please me the most.

"Having said that, I've got two-in-two now and I'll be looking to continue that form. If picked to play obviously, I'll be looking to get another goal."
