Substitute Zavon Hines secured a point for City from their first Yorkshire derby in sixteen years with York City after netting his maiden goal for the Bantams.

Barely minutes after coming on the field, Hines capped off a fine run from well outside the area by beating York 'keeper Michael Ingham with a cool finish from around six yards out to cancel out Ashley Chambers' superb opener for the visitors just before half time.

Chambers' opener for York came about towards the end of a largely uneventful opening period when Jon Challinor's shot deflected into the winger's path, giving him the opportunity to fire a side-foot volley into the top corner from just outside the area.

Fellow City substitute Garry Thompson nearly fired Phil Parkinson's side into the lead shortly after Hines' equaliser but saw a thunderous volley from just inside the area crash off Ingham's near post.

The Bantams then went just as close with eighteen minutes remaining when Nathan Doyle played Nahki Wells through on goal following a City counter-attack.

Shooting from just inside the area, Wells managed to chip the ball over the diving frame of Ingham but could only watch as the ball bounced agonisingly wide of the far post.

The point - City's first drawn home game of the season - sees them occupy eighth position in the League 2 table, just one point off the Play-Off places.

FT: Bradford City 1 York City 1

90+3min: YELLOW CARD - Kerr is booked for a high challenge of Thompson just inside City's half

90+2min: Thompson's low cross is flicked for goal by Wells at the near post but the effort rolls a few yards wide of the target out at the far post.

90min: There will be three minutes added on at the end of the match.

87min: Oliver heads over at the far post following Doyle's floated free-kick into York's penalty area.

82min: SUB - York bring on Daniel Parslow for Kearns.

78min: Coulson fires an effort comfortably over the bar from a direct York free-kick around 25 yards from City's goal.

75min: Thompson's fierce rising drive from outside the area is kept out by Ingham.

72min: City go agonisingly close to taking the lead! Counter-attacking on York's goal, Doyle plays Wells into space behind the visitors' back-line with only Ingham to beat. With the York shot-stopper diving at his feet, the Bermudian clips the ball over him from just inside the area but sees his effort bounce narrowly wide of the far post.

66min: Oliver again has to produce another well-timed tackle to deny Chambers inside the area just as the winger was surging menacingly on City's goal. The handball shouts go up from the York camp seconds later after a Walker shot is blocked, but nothing is given.

62min: SUB - Michael Coulson is brought on for Reed by York.

61min: Oliver is required to produce a perfectly-timed tackle on Chambers by the byline inside City's area to halt a dangerous York counter-attack.

60min: After picking up Wells' flick on, Thompson crashes in a thunderous half-volley from just inside the area that smashes against Ingham's near post before bouncing away.

57min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!! Bradford City 1 York City 1 - The Bantams equalise through substitute Hines! After starting his run from outside the area, Hines twists and turns into shooting space before coolly slotting the ball past Ingham.

56min: Chambers fires narrowly wide from a first-time strike from just outside the area following Walker's lay-off.

55min: Thompson heads narrowly over from a wide Doyle free-kick into the penalty area.

54min: James Meredith's clever forward pass plays Wells into space in a wide position within York's penalty area. The Bermudian uses the space to send over a testing low centre across the area but Chris Smith is in the right position to clear.

53min: SUBS - City bring on Zavon Hines and Garry Thompson for Ravenhill and Connell respectively.

50min: A dangerous York counter-attack is only halted by a superb McLaughlin gather as Kearns aimed for the top corner with a curler from just outside the Bantams' penalty area.

46min: The Bantams restart the match.

HT: Bradford City 0 York City 1

45+1min: Wells does commendably down City's right flank to get into space before pulling the ball back from the byline for the on-rushing Ravenhill. The midfielder goes to shoot first time from just inside York's area but his drive is blocked by a well-timed tackle from Daniel Kearns.

45min: There will be one minute of time added on at the end of the first half.

44min: GOAL - Bradford City 0 York City 1 - The visitors take the lead of the match near the end of the first half through a superb finish from Ashley Chambers. Jon Challinor's drive from outside the area is deflected up into the path of Chambers, who beautifully side-foots a volley into the top corner from just outside the area.

36min: Connell's shot from distance is well held by Ingram.

35min: Not for the first time this afternoon, McLaughlin has to race out of his goal - this time to the edge of City's area - to just beat Walker to a ball forward.

33min: Nathan Doyle's clipped free-kick into the area causes a moment's panic for York when the visitors initially fall to clear their lines. Despite City's best attempts, however, York eventually boot clear from within their own six yard box.

31min: Ricky Ravenhill and Connell try to engineer a chance on goal with a neat one-two on the edge of York's area but the move eventually breaks down when Fyfield is able to clear after tackling Ravenhill. Moments later, McLaughlin has to run well clear of his goal to prevent Walker from getting in behind City's defences.

26min: York full back Fyfield is allowed too much time and space to charge forward from around the halfway line to near City's penalty area. Luckily for City though, his eventual effort on goal is wayward and blocked away by Davies.

22min: Jason Walker shows good movement within the box to dart in front of Darby and beat the City defender to a near post cross from Jamie Reed but his side-footed effort from around six yards out is lifted over.

21min: Scott Kerr turns away from a couple of City challenges before letting rip with a drive from just outside the area that is blocked away by the body of Andrew Davies.

17min: Nahki Wells charges down an attempted clearance from Jamal Fyfield but his drive from a wide position within York's penalty area is hit straight at Ingham's mid-drift.

14min: Stephen Darby's throw-in into the six yard box is headed down into the mix by Hanson but Connell's first-time effort bounces over Ingham's goal from around ten yards out.

11min: Connell is involved in the action again when his clipped ball forward sees Will Atkinson in with a sniff of goal. Ingham is out of his goal quickly, however, and just beats the City midfielder to the attempted assist.

9min: In a yard or so of space around 25 yards from goal, Alan Connell turns and tries to play Nahki Wells in on goal. The pass is just over-hit, however, and the ball runs through to York 'keeper Michael Ingham.

1min: Clarke Carlisle fails to deal with a clipped ball forward but James Hanson's first-time strike from just outside the area is scuffed harmlessly wide.

0min: York kick off the match. City will attack towards the T.L Dallas Stand end in the first half.
