Phil Parkinson has confirmed he will look again at Nathan Doyle's Bristol Rovers dismissal this Saturday as the Bantams boss looks for the confirmation he is seeking that City do indeed have grounds to appeal the decision.
Doyle was controversially sent off in injury time during City's eventful 3-3 draw at the Memorial Stadium for apparently kicking Bristol Rovers' Seanan Clucas after the Pirates midfielder had felled James Meredith with a wild tackle.
Despite replays showing it was Clucas who made the reckless challenge, referee Mr David Phillips actually mistakenly gave a second yellow to Rovers team-mate Wayne Brown.
Regarding City's own dismissal, Parkinson is adamant that Doyle didn't kick Clucas and feels the City midfielder was undeserved of his red card.
Should the DVD footage conclude with Parkinson's initial thoughts on the incident, City may well look to appeal against Doyle's sending off.
If City are unable to overturn Doyle's red card and the midfielder's subsequent punishment, he will miss the club's next three matches - the F.A Cup tie at home to Brentford, the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game at Port Vale and City's next league fixture against Torquay United in two weeks time.
Parkinson said: "We will be having a look at the incident again."
"First of all, I thought it was a crazy and needless challenge from their lad. The ball was almost out of play at the time when the tackle came in.
"When you see one of your team-mates tackled like that, there is going to be some sort of reaction.
"There was obviously a reaction after the tackle, but I just said to the referee 'I was right in the middle of it, no-one got kicked, no-one threw a punch, just deal with the tackle'.
"But unfortunately it seems like they felt that they've have had to do something just because there was a coming together, and Doyley's been the fall-guy.
"The fourth official said to me that he felt he (Nathan Doyle) kicked him. I felt that he ran over and had a go at the lad who had put the tackle in, but I certainly didn't see any contact, and I was right there.
"Until we see the DVD again though, we won't be able to say for certain."
