Pre-season training begins once again for Phil Parkinson's men

City's players made their official return to training following the summer break this Monday as preparations for the forthcoming season were taken up a notch.

Phil Parkinson's men took part in a series of fitness tests over the course of last Thursday and Friday but today (Monday) marked the proper start of pre-season training for the Bantams ahead of the new 2012/2013 campaign.

All seven of City's summer signings - Andrew Davies, Rory McArdle, Gary Jones, James Meredith, Will Atkinson, Garry Thompson and Stephen Darby - were involved on day one at the Bantams' Woodhouse Grove training base.

With Parkinson's squad decked out in their stylish new Nike grey and black training attire, young striker Adam Baker also got his first real taste of life as a professional footballer after progressing up from the youth ranks.

Midfielder James Nanje-Ngoe, who played alongside Baker in City's youth team last season, joined in with training as well as he bids to earn himself his own pro contract.

City's first friendly of the summer will be at Tadcaster Albion in less than two weeks time - Saturday 21 July 2012 - before the squad then embark on a week-long trip to Ireland as part of their pre-season schedule.
