Thinking of changes

28 August 2012

City boss Phil Parkinson has admitted that he will look to freshen things up slightly for the Bantams' Capital One Cup second round tie at Championship side Watford this Tuesday evening.

Parkinson has been understandably pleased with his side's recent performances following back-to-back home wins last week, but he does have a few knocks within his squad to contend with ahead of the trip to Vicarage Road.

The Bantams boss has revealed that some changes to last Saturday's AFC Wimbledon starting line up will be made, and he feels that City's match-up with the Hornets will give some of his squad members a good chance to impress.

"There are a few niggles (within the squad) but fresh legs can be important for games like this," said Parkinson.

"There will be one or two changes at least against Watford but I'm looking forward to seeing people play who haven't been involved in the past couple of games.

"Most of those have been unlucky not to feature as well.

"Stephen Darby impressed me during pre-season but we just changed things around slightly and he has found himself out of the team recently.

"Alan Connell, who was Swindon's top-scorer last season, has done absolutely nothing wrong either.

"Then there's the likes of Garry Thompson as well. He was unlucky to miss most of pre-season due to injury but he will be an important player for us."
