Fans group to be set up

10 August 2012

The football club is currently on the lookout for supporters who are interested in making up part of a soon-to-be-formed fans board.

The fans board - a concept originally revealed by Directors of Operations David Baldwin during a fans forum this Thursday - will involve a group of sixteen supporters meeting once a month to discuss various topics with the club.

The monthly meetings will allow the club to inform the chosen group of supporters of any recent developments while also giving those fans the opportunity to feedback ideas of their own.

Baldwin explained: "The idea behind the fans board is to allow the club to disclose information about things that will be going on behind the scenes and also for supporters to give us their thoughts on areas (within the club) they feel need alteration or improvement.

"We are basically looking for a way to have better interaction between a broad spectrum of our fan-base and the internal workings of the club.

"The board of selected fans will meet roughly once a month throughout the season and I will chair the board.

"The invitation to join this board is open to all fans. Any interested supporters simply need to apply to me to be part of the group of sixteen people.

"They can do so by either writing to me or sending me an e-mail with a covering letter that basically explains why they want to be part of the board, who they are, what they are about and just generally a bit about themselves.

"I will then select a group of sixteen supporters from the applicants that I feel represents the different areas of our fan-base as best as possible.

"We are, ideally, looking for supporters who can commit to one evening a month throughout the season."

Any supporters interested in making up one part of the club's newly-found fans board can send their covering letters through to David Baldwin either via e-mail - davidbaldwin@the-bantams.co.uk -  or letter to:

Any application must reach the club by no later than Friday 31st August 2012. Selected supporters will then be contacted by around Friday 14 September.

The club intends to hold the first fans board meeting around the third or fourth week in September.

Please note, any selected supporters for the group will need to sign a non-disclosure form given the sensitive nature of some of the information that might be revealed in future meetings.
