After signing professional forms in 2004, Craig had to wait patiently in the wings for his first team debut. It eventually arrived when he came on as a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw with Walsall at the Bescot Stadium on 26 February 2005. He had to continue to bide his time but eventually made a first team berth his own in the 2006/2007 season.
