Omar Daley was signed from American outfit Charleston Battery who he joined from Portmore United of the Jamaican Premier League in 2005.
He previously playing for Reading F.C. and Preston North End. Daley appeared for the Jamaican U-20's in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship in Argentina and is a current member of the Jamaican national team; he has been capped more than 50 times and scored four international goals.
On 16 January 2007, Omar returned to ply his footballing trade in England when he signed for Bradford City to link up with his fellow Jamaican internationals Donovan Ricketts and Jermaine Johnson. Omar has become the fourth Reggae Boy to join Bradford City over the past few seasons, as central defender Damion Stewart also signed on loan for the 2005-2006 season before joining Queens Park Rangers.
Daley made his Bantams debut against Yeovil Town back on 27th January 2007, before going on to score his first goal for the club two months later against Rotherham United.
The arrival of Stuart McCall in the Bantams hotseat at the start of the 2007/08 season coinceded with a sharp up turn in form for Daley, making him one of the key parts of McCall's squad.
The Jamaican's sparkling performances were rewarded with a new three year contract in January 2008.
Stuart McCall's side started the following season in tremendous form, winning 5 out of their first 6 matches. This grand start to the season was in no small way down to Daley's flying start to the season, the Jamaican terrorising League 2 defences with his lighting pace to devastating effect.
Injury and suspension disrupted the remainder of Daley's season however, the Jamaican failing to finish the season after suffering a nasty looking knee injury at home to Darlington in February 2009. A operation on the injured knee is expected to rule Daley out of contention for the Bantams until December.
At the end of the 2008/09 season, Daley was named in the PFA League 2 Team of the Year, as voted for by his fellow League 2 professionals.
The Jamaican finally made his return from injury in December 2009, when he made a substitutes appearance at Carlisle United's Brunton Park during City's Johnstone Paint Trophy Area Semi-Finals tie.
Daley continued on his comeback trail by making his return to Valley Parade a couple of weeks later when he again left the subs bench to appear in City's final match of 2009 against Shrewsbury Town.
