Matt Glennon made the short trip across West Yorkshire to sign for the Bantams on Tuesday 12 January 2010.
The 31 year old put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the current season after being released from his contract at neighbours Huddersfield Town.
Glennon brought with him to the Coral Windows Stadium the experience of playing over 369 games, as he tried to provide McCall with the senior stopper that he has carved for since the departure of Simon Eastwood in December 2009.
The 6'2'' shot stopper had been on the verge of the Huddersfield first team for the majority of the 2009/10 campaign, only being kept out of the starting eleven by the Terriers promising England youth international. Alex Smithies.
Given Smithies sparkling form at the Galpharm Stadium, Glennon had unluckily been forced to play second fiddle to the youngster so far this season.
The Stockport born keeper started his career as a trainee with Bolton Wanderers, turning professional in 1997.
At Bolton, Glennon enjoyed brief loan spells with Port Vale, Stockport County and Brighton and Hove Albion, before Carlisle United borrowed him for a lengthy spell until the end of the 2000/2001 season as he continued to cut his footballing teeth in the professional circuit.
After four years at the Reebok Stadium, Glennon moved to Hull City in a deal worth £50,000.
He quickly established himself as the Tigers first choice keeper during the 2001/2002 season, making 35 appearances for the Humberside club in the process.
In October 2002, Glennon was re-united with the Brunton Park faithful as returned to Carlisle United on a free transfer.
Glennon would spend over 3 years and make over 100 appearances during his second period with the Cumbrians.
During his time with Carlisle, he suffered the heartache of relegation to National Conference (Blue Square Premier League), although he would taste the joy of promotion 12 months later as he helped guide the Brunton Park oufit back into league football at the first time of asking.
In the summer of 2005, the keeper's career path took him further north to Scotland, where he featured for Falkirk and St Johnstone.
Though Glennon's stay at St Johnstone was brief, it did allow him to achieve the remarkable feat of scoring a goal past his opposition number.
Up for a corner, Glennon managed to score a last minute equaliser with a smartly taken volley against Ross County in the Scottish F.A Cup.
A return south of the border was next on the cards for Glennon in 2006, as he moved back to England to join Huddersfield Town.
Since his move to Huddersfield, Glennon has made over 100 appearances for the Yorkshire club, which included him amazingly saving three penalties in one match against Crewe Alexandra in February 2007.
He headed into the 2008/09 season firmly as the Terriers first choice shot stopper, until the arrival of Lee Clark as Huddersfield's new manager in early November 2008.
Upon his arrival at the Galpharm Stadium, the former Newcastle United midfielder was keen to give an opportunity to Huddersfield young starlet, Alex Smithies.
Smithies grabbed his opportunity in the first team with both hands, leaving Glennon to settle for a prolonged spell on the bench.
