32-year old midfielder Chris Brandon signed for City on a 2-year deal in July 2008.

Originally a trainee at Bradford City, his hometown club, Chris was released from the Centre of Excellence and joined Bradford (Park Avenue).

He later played for Farsley Celtic before joining Stafford Rangers where he played 32 times over two seasons before returning to Bradford (Park Avenue).

In March 1999, he played in a reserve match for Lincoln City, but failed to win a contract at Sincil Bank. Five months later, he was signed by Torquay United, and immediately established himself as a first-team regular at Plainmoor.

However, only two games into the following season, he picked up a stomach tear, which kept him out for the rest of the season. During his disrupted three seasons with Torquay, he amassed 80 appearances with ten goals to his credit, before moving to Chesterfield in July 2002 under the Bosman ruling.

In July 2004, Brandon was picked up on a free transfer by Huddersfield Town, with whom he has made a name for himself on the right wing of Town's midfield quartet. One of his most famous goals was against Worcester City in the second round of the FA Cup in December 2005, which gave Town a money-spinning third-round tie at Stamford Bridge against José Mourinho's Chelsea.

On 21 March 2007, he moved to Blackpool on loan. The following month he was sent off in Blackpool's win at home to Scunthorpe United which resulted in him missing the Seasiders' Play-Off games, and therefore not being considered for their successful Final at Wembley against Yeovil Town.

He returned to Huddersfield on 5 January 2008 and scored the winning goal to knock out Birmingham City from the FA Cup in a 2-1 defeat at the Galpharm Stadium.

With his contract due to expire that summer, Brandon played his last match for the Terriers against local rivals Leeds United in April 2008.

After his subsequent release from the Galpharm Stadium, Brandon made the emotion home coming to Valley Parade.

Several niggling injuries restricted his early Bantams career, so much so that Brandon didn't make debut for the club until 9 months later against Aldershot in March 2009.

His first goal for his beloved Bradford finally came in the last minute of normal time to seal a victory over Torquay in late August 2009 - over 13 months since he signed at Valley Parade.

Brandon has registered since for City, most importantly stealing in to head home a dramatic late equaliser against Notts County in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy, a match the Bantams would go on to win on penalties.
