Daley features in Jamaican defeat

Posted on: Thu 09 Sep 2010

Jamaica's Omar Daley finished his brief stint of international duty with the national team this Wednesday as the Reggae Boyz lost 2-1 to Peru in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The friendly fixture was Daley's second in four days after the Jamaicans had defeated Costa Rica 1-0 back in their own capital, Kingston on Sunday.

Just as against the Costa Ricans, Daley was introduced into the action at the Lockhart Stadium as a second half substitute.

The scores were level at the point of Daley's arrival on the pitch following an own goal from Jamaica's Demar Phillips and an equalising strike from Reggae Boy Omar Cummings.

The match would stay tied until 84th minute when sub Jose Carlos Fernandez's cheeky flick won it for Peru.

Daley is now expected back into England on Thursday, though it is unclear at present whether Peter Taylor will include the 28 year old in his plans for the trip to Stockport County this weekend.
