Peter Taylor has told his City players to get over any fears they may have of playing at Valley Parade.
The Bantams are desperate to flush their Southend misery out of the system as they prepare for another home test on Saturday.
Taylor admits the clash with Port Vale is a "massive" one after the poor start to the campaign.
And he will not stand for another timid display like the opening two league games on their own patch.
He said to the Telegraph & Argus: "There's a little bit of a situation here and the players have got to handle it.
"At the moment, because of the injuries we've got, we're a little bit of a young side but it's something we've got to overcome.
"It's ridiculous if players are more nervous at home. That's not right.
"People outside of Bradford must look at us and wonder why we can't do it.
"We've handled the crowd twice in the cup games but there was not so much expectation. Is that our attitude and also our crowd's attitude?
"The crowd might have been a little bit more patient that time because it was Nottingham Forest and Preston. But I'm not having a go at them.
"Our crowd are magnificent and we gave them absolutely nothing against Stevenage and Southend."

The continued absence of influential duo Simon Ramsden and Michael Flynn is hitting City hard.
Skipper Ramsden has been sidelined since half-time of the Forest match with a calf tear. Flynn is yet to kick a ball at all as he recovers from a double hernia operation.
Taylor added: "I went to watch Barnet and Bury on Saturday and you could see that Bury have got more experience than us in the team at the minute. That's why not having the likes of Ramsden and Flynn is really hurting us.
"I think they are both still two to three weeks away and we've just got to get on with it."
Taylor accepted the blame for Friday's no-show and promised the squad would be working "incredibly hard" to rectify it this week.
"It's very early days but we know it's not good. All we can do is be honest and prepare as well as we can.
"Port Vale is a massive game. Micky (Adams) knows this level very well and has got a good team there."
