Kendall vows to energise City's front line

Posted on: Wed 17 Mar 2010

Confident Ryan Kendall is ready to slip Peter Taylor's City revolution into another gear.

The rookie Hull striker trained with the Bantams for the first time and declared his intention to race into the side to face Hereford.

Kendall, 20, said to the Telegraph & Argus: "The main part of my game is my speed and playing off someone.

"Obviously James Hanson is the big man up front and would be an ideal partner, winning a lot in the air.

"The manager has told me he wants some fresh legs up front and bright energy and hopefully I can give him that.

"It's difficult at Hull because they are that tight to the bottom. It wasn't really the right time or place to take chances on young lads, so I've been waiting all season to come out on loan.

"This is a great move for me and I'll try to pay the manager back by scoring goals and winning games."

Hull-born Kendall was playing for the under-16s when Taylor was leading the Tigers to back-to-back promotions.

He added: "I only met him once or twice but a lot of people I spoke to at the stadium have said what a great manager he is.

"He did a fantastic job with Hull and everyone there's got a lot of respect for him."

Kendall is the sixth new face and arrives after Peter Thorne and Michael Boulding were paid up.
