Fans help raise Hanson fee
Devoted Bradford City fans have raised £5,000 to help the Bantams pay for James Hanson's transfer fee.
Jeremy White, a long-standing City fan who lives in Thirsk, decided to help the club following a Football League tribunal decision that City should pay Guiseley FC £7,500 for Hanson.
He designed and created enamel fixture badges which he sold at games with the help of Mike Harrison, of the City Gent fanzine.
Mr White said to the Telegraph & Argus: "This season's badges include the date of the match, a depiction of City's home shirt, the opponent's crest, attendance, man of the match and final score. Last season 100 sets sold out quickly.
I decided it would be appropriate to donate all the profits from the badges to Bradford City.
I'd like to thank all the subscribers for their support."
The latest City Gent fanzine, featuring an exclusive interview with City legend Stuart McCall, will be on sale from various points around the stadium during the Bantams home fixture with Darlington this Saturday.
The always excellent read is priced at £2.00 as normal.
