City keeper Jon McLaughlin's Serbian adverture at the World Student Games has ended in defeat.

Japan inflicted a 1 - 0 defeat on McLaughlin and his Great Britain team mates in the Bronze medal play off match, meaning the Bantams shot stopper will unfortunately leave the tournament without a medal for his efforts.

Kohei Mishima's 31st minute strike for Japan was the first McLaughlin had conceded in four matches, but it was sadly enough to clinch the match and the bronze medal for the Japanese.

Despite this loss, the tournament has undoubtedly been a huge success for McLaughlin, who will now turn his focus on to securing the number 1 slot in the Bantams line up this season.
