Kyle Nix joins Mansfield Town

Posted on: Thu 02 Jul 2009

Former City midfielder Kyle Nix has joined Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town.

Nix has signed a two year deal with David Holdsworth's ambitious outfit and will again team up with another fellow Bantam Paul Heckingbottom, who joined Mansfield last month.

Both former City players will be hoping for quick return to league football as the Stags go in search of regaining a place in the Football League next season.

Picked up on a free transfer at the start of Stuart McCall's first campaign in charge of the Bantams in 2007, Nix was involved in the majority of matches during the season, as well as chipping in with 6 goals.

The diminutive Australian saw his chances of first team football severely diminished the following season due to several summer additions to the Bantams midfield. This competiton for places resulted in Nix struggling to receive any real first team opportunities and at the end of the campaign he was one of a number of players to be released.
