Stuart McCall is desperate to erase the bitterest memory of his fledgling career as City boss.
Tuesday's loss at Rochdale may have killed off any faint play-off hopes, but McCall is determined that the last six games will not dribble away.
He is demanding a victory against Morecambe at Valley Parade on Saturday as pay-back for the worst night in his brief reign.
City's 2-1 defeat at Christie Park came during the wretched autumn slump which saw them pick up only two points from eight games - effectively killing off their chances of promotion.
It was one of a catalogue of last-gasp losses but made all the worse for McCall because his side had been peppering the Morecambe goal just seconds before Carl Baker's winner.
McCall admits he is still haunted by that result and is keen for City to put the record straight.
"That night at Morecambe was a real low point for me," he said while talking to the Telegraph & Agrgus. "It was probably my worst time as a manager so far because I felt so disappointed.
"It was a game we should have won because we had so many chances and then to end up with nothing right at the end was very cruel.
"That's why this is one game I've been looking forward to for a while. Morecambe have hit a little bit of form again recently after a sticky patch but I want the three points that we should have got last time and the players know how I feel."
City will try to pick themselves up from another bout of late misery at Spotland - the sixth time they have been beaten by a goal scored in the last five minutes.
