Stuart McCall left feeling sick after Morecambe defeat
Stuart McCall was left "feeling sick" by City's latest loss at Morecambe on Friday night.
A 90th-minute goal sunk the Bantams, who had struck the opening blow through Mark Bower's first-half header.
It was a fifth straight defeat for McCall's men to keep them languishing at the bottom end of the League Two table and the City boss admitted this one was by far the hardest to swallow.
"I don't think I've ever felt like this after a game," he said talking to the Telegraph & Argus. "I feel absolutely physically sick to lose like that.
"We had a couple of great chances in the last five minutes just before they scored - one was blocked on the line and then the keeper made a good save.
"But it's just not going for us at the moment. It's hard and it's difficult to take but we've got to plug away.
"Nobody envisaged being where we are at the moment and it's hurting badly. Everyone needs to be hurting and it's not a nice place to be in that dressing room right now."
McCall will step up his search to inject new talent into a squad who have now lost five out of six away from home.
He added: "We know there's going to have to be a lot of changes made to get the progression of this club back on track.
"We can't go round whimpering. We need men now and character and that's what we have to bring to the club.
"We're all worried and I've got to try and bring players in that I can see will make an improvement.
"But would I be speaking like this if we'd taken our chances and gone 2-1 up with five minutes to go?
"We've got to make more use of what we've got and pick the right option. But credit to Morecambe, who are a good side.
"I thought their two wide men were outstanding and if Garry Thompson plays like that every week then he should be in the Premiership."
Paul Heckingbottom went off in the first half with a back problem after landing awkwardly but City are hopeful he will be fit to rejoin training on Monday.
