I'd like to start by welcoming Ian Hendon, Peter Shreeves and the staff from Barnet to the Coral Windows Stadium.
Peter was an excellent manager, assistant manager and coach at Tottenham. He's got a wealth of experience and it was a very clever move of Ian's to bring him in alongside him.
Even though I know it's been a tough season for Barnet, I've got no doubt in my mind that Ian Hendon will be a really good manager.
Last season he did an excellent job there. When he took over he completely changed the whole team and got them playing as well as anyone in the division.
This season has been more frustrating for him but I've no doubt that this afternoon will be a test for us against some really athletic players.
All of us personally know that this season hasn't been what we're looking for.
It has been very up and down and too many times performances have been too inconsistent.
We've all been honest enough to point out the bad ones that we've had. But I must say that Tuesday night against Morecambe was excellent.
I felt everyone who went on the field performed first class and the display was as good as any I've seen at home since I've been here.
Morecambe are a very good team and if I was a supporter I'd have been very pleased with the way we performed.
The challenge is there for us now to carry that through into today's game.
It will be a different type of test but if we can see the same energy and desire and same quality, we will all be delighted.
We've said all along that we want to see improvement to the end of the season and it would be fantastic if we can produce the same level of performance.
On the injury front, things are slowly clearing up. I still think there is more chance of players being available for Chesterfield next week although there might be a possibility of one or two coming back this afternoon.
Like every club, we will be celebrating our player of the year awards on Tuesday, April 27. It should be a good night and gives fans the chance to meet the players.
Enjoy the game
