"I wanted us to give the fans a little payback for the recent disappointment at home"

Coca-Cola Football League 2
Bradford City vs Dagenham & Redbridge
A warm welcome to John Still, his players, the officials and supporters from Dagenham & Redbridge to this afternoon's game.
Dagenham are one of the teams scrapping for their lives down the bottom of the league and they have put together a fantastic run with four straight wins. They picked up a great result against Hereford in midweek and will come here with plenty of confidence so we know to expect another tough afternoon.
I'm sure everyone agree that we saw some fantastic entertainment here against Rotherham. If you can't enjoy a game like that, particularly the first half, then you're not a football fan.
I wanted us to give the fans a little payback for the recent disappointment at home and we certainly did that.
Credit to Rotherham as well who are a very good side and played their part in making it such an open and attacking game.
Mark Robins has done a super job there, bringing a lot of new faces in during the summer and they are doing very well. It would be such a shame if they had to go into administration again and I just hope somebody can come along for them and put money into the club.
That first half was as enjoyable as any this season. Rotherham hit the woodwork twice and could feel themselves unfortunate not to have scored in that period. But on the break we played some excellent football and the three goals were real quality.
The pace of Rhodes, Colbeck and Daley was super and they were picking the right options in the final third. It's no good getting there by beating three men and then taking the wrong option but they certainly delivered.
Second half we needed to be professional and didn't want to sit back and invite Rotherham on. But in the end we could have scored a couple more and so could they. How Thorney has missed that ?
But I'm absolutely delighted that we could reward the home fans with a good performance. I'm sure the people who were here in midweek are back again today and hopefully they've brought a friend.
When I came back here, I said I wanted to put smiles on people's faces again by playing attractive football and creating chances. It's nice when things come off like that as they did on Tuesday.
Scoring goals and playing free-flowing football is all you an ask for. It's easy to say on the back of scoring three goals but the lads out there are exciting players on their day - it's just about doing it consistently.
There were a lot of good performances all over the pitch and now I'm just looking for that level of quality over a period of matches.
Remember we are all one team so give the lads a cheer.
Enjoy the game
