Coca-Cola Football League 2
Bradford City vs Bury

A warm welcome to Alan Knill, his players and officials and the supporters from Bury to this afternoon's game.

I know Knilly quite well and he'll be delighted to be back as a manager again. Once you've been a number one, unless you've had a really hard time of it, you're itching to get back in.

He did a good job at Rotherham in difficult circumstances and has been doing well with Rico at Chesterfield. He's a good fella who puts everything into it and obviously I wish him well after today.

I was there at Bury to see his first game in charge against Stockport on Tuesday night and we've seen the impact that a new manager can have on a team. But we'll just concentrate on ourselves and making sure we can keep the good run going.

We only played Bury a few weeks ago so it is still fresh in the memory. Considering the difficult conditions it was a decent game with chances for both sides and you could only hold your hand up to their fantastic equaliser they scored at the end.

But we've got to look to continue our recent home form which has seen us get seven goals in the last two games here.

I still think performance-wise there is more to come. We've scratched and scraped to some results recently but there will be times when you just have to keep battling away.

Maybe when the quality is not the best then the other parts of your game have got to be there.

Our confidence is naturally high and the lads are looking forward to every game. It would be nice to put some back-to-back home victories together.

The backing we've had recently has been magnificent once again. To see that many turn up at Macclesfield last week when the game could have been in a bit of doubt gave us such a lift.

It was great to be able to reward them with the victory. You'd have thought we were top of the league.

I thought the atmosphere at the last home game was terrific with the group at the top of the Kop getting everyone else going with the drum.

When the fans are vocal like that round the ground, it makes you want to succeed even more and I think people are enjoying coming down here. The results have improved and we're scoring goals and we want that to continue.

Prior to Christmas we'd scored one goal per home game which wasn't good enough. It's about taking your chances when they come along and in the last few games we've been doing that.

Remember we're all a team so get behind the lads and enjoy the game.
