YOUTH TEAM RECEIVE LEAGUE TROPHY

27 April 2015

City's triumphant Under 18s squad received their medals and the league trophy this Saturday after winning the Youth Alliance North East Division for the second successive season.

Captain James Pollard held the trophy aloft after being presented with it by former Bantams defender Graham Mitchell, who now works for the Football League, during the half time interval of City's first team home match with Barnsley.

Pollard and the rest of his apprentice team-mates then received their winners' medals before going on a lap of honour around the Valley Parade pitch.

After winning the title last season in convincing fashion, City's youth team eventually sealed this year's success by six clear points from nearest rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Led by Lead Professional Development Coach, Lee Elam - pictured left on the main article image - City only lost three of their twenty-four league matches, winning seventeen of them at the same time.

The feat of retaining their league title was all the more impressive by City's youngsters given the fact that some of their key players, such as Elliott Barker, Dylan Mottley-Henry and Reece Webb-Foster, missed a number of youth team matches due to first team commitments.
