THREE APPRENTICES INCLUDED IN MK DONS TRAVELLING PARTY

16 September 2014

Three members of City's youth team will make up part of the Bantams' travelling party for this Tuesday's Sky Bet League 1 fixture at MK Dons.

Midfielder Sam Wright (pictured), who has been included on the bench for City's last two games, has been joined on the trip down to stadiummk by defender James King and forward Reece Webb-Foster.

Wright and King are second year apprentices who were members of last season's title-winning youth team. Both youngsters also travelled with Bantams boss Phil Parkinson and his squad for the club's pre-season trip to Ireland this summer.

Webb-Foster is a first year scholar who played a number of youth team fixtures towards the back end of last season despite still being in the club's under 16's ranks at the time.

The young striker has started this campaign in impressive form after netting five goals in the youth team's first three games of the season.

The trio have been named in the squad following a number of doubts within the senior City squad.

James Meredith has been struggling with a chest infection over recent days, while Mark Yeates suffered an injury to his left shoulder during Saturday's home fixture with Swindon Town.

Andrew Davies is still ruled out with a broken arm and Alan Sheehan starts his three-match ban following his Swindon red card to further add to City's selection concerns ahead of the MK Dons fixture.
