Bradford City will be attempting to break a World Record during this Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 fixture with Scunthorpe United at the Coral Windows Stadium - with the help of our supporters that is!
The record that we’re attempting to break is the record for most people gathered wearing Christmas jumpers - a figure which currently stands at 639 people.
With a crowd of at least 12,000 expected at the Coral Windows Stadium on Saturday afternoon, we’re encouraging as many people attending the game as possible to turn up wearing a Christmas jumper.
If only just over 6% of the expected attendance on Saturday wear their festive garments, then we will break the record. Let’s go one better, however, and smash this figure!
We encourage as many people in the ground on Saturday to wear their Christmas jumpers, including visiting Scunthorpe United supporters, and then who knows? Maybe we can break through the 1,000 mark!
What started out as a bit of fun for the club staff to wear Christmas jumpers at the game, has now turned into an invite to all Bradford City and Scunthorpe United fans to come along to the game in a Christmas jumper.
When you arrive at the game on Saturday wearing your Christmas jumper you will be given a raffle ticket as you enter the ground. At full-time we would like to ask everyone taking part to stay in their seats for a photograph, before we conduct a raffle draw to win a free season ticket for next season.
The raffle ticket stubs and photographs will be used as to confirm whether or not the record has been broken. As part of the event, the club will also be asking supporters to donate £1.00 to bucket collections around the ground and all funds will go to Bradford Hospitals Children’s charity..
Supporters can get involved by tweeting pictures of themselves in their Christmas jumpers to @officialbantams using the hashtag #GetYourJumperOn
