Having secured an impressive point on Tuesday at Bristol City - a side who were thirteen league games unbeaten going into the game - Parkinson's men are now set to make the short trip across the Pennines to upwardly mobile Oldham Athletic this Saturday.
A twelve-game streak without defeat in all competitions for Lee Johnson's Latics has pushed the Lancashire side into a position just outside the League 1 Play-Offs.
Parkinson knows his players can prove a match for their improving opponents - but he is fully aware that another huge effort like the one shown on Tuesday at Bristol City will be needed again.
Parkinson said: "We find ourselves with another challenge but, like we did on Tuesday, it is one we must face head on.
"We know that Oldham will be in a confident frame of mind at the moment following their recent run of results but we will go there with our confidence levels boosted by the result and the performance at Bristol City.
"We will certainly need to take the same positive attributes we showed at Bristol City with us down the M62 tomorrow (Saturday).
"Away from home, there will be times when you have to stand strong, and I thought the honesty levels and our endeavour on Tuesday night was very good.
"We were resilient and we worked hard for each other throughout the game.
"We know Oldham are a team who play with intensity and who like to close you down.
"If you go there and play on the back-foot, it can catch you on the hop. We have to make sure that doesn't happen to us."
