Mclean picked a minor calf problem in training last Friday and isn't expected to be risked by Bantams boss Phil Parkinson at Guiseley ahead of the club's week-long stay in Ireland, which begins on Sunday.
After suffering an injury-troubled end to last season, however, James Hanson has used the summer months to get over an inflammation problem which had affected his back and groin.
Hanson will therefore get a run-out at the home of his former club, while all of the club's close season recruits - Matthew Dolan, Billy Knott, Gary Liddle, Alan Sheehan and Billy Clarke - are expected to feature at some point as well.
Parkinson said: "Hans (James Hanson) has been looking great since we've returned for pre-season. That is really good news because that was a bit of a concern for us at the back end of last year.
"The course of treatment we've given him over the summer has thankfully worked and he's ready to go on Saturday.
"We've always brought a good crowd with us when we've played at Guiseley, and the new players in particular are looking forward to it. It is a chance for them to meet the fans properly for the first time.
"If they are being honest, all footballers prefer playing football to running. The running has to be done, of course, but the lads are excited to be getting out there again in a match situation."
Along with the recovering Hanson, another player to make good use of the close season is central half Matt Taylor.
Taylor missed the last three months of the season following foot surgery but he has returned to training this week after a summer of rehab.
Parkinson added: "Matt had a bit of an unfortunate season last year. He was loaned out at the start and then suffered his foot problem in a reserve game at Leeds which kept him out for the rest of the season.
"To his credit though, he has come back for training looking really, really fit.
"He won't feature at Guiseley but he will be coming with us to Ireland and he should feature in one of the games over there."
Oliver McBurnie is another player who could sit out the Guiseley friendly after picking up a knock in training last week.
