LEWIS LEAVES THE BANTAMS

12 October 2015

The football club can confirm that young forward Jon Lewis has now left the Coral Windows Stadium after his Bradford City contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

Lewis, 18, signed a two-year professional deal with the Bantams over the summer but he will now return to his native United States of America with immediate effect.

The pacey striker has unfortunately found it increasingly difficult in recent weeks to be away from his American home.

It has now been decided that it is the best interest of the attacker's progress for him to move back to the USA.

Lewis featured in all three of City's Final Third Development League reserve fixture so far this season but he failed to be involved with Phil Parkinson's first team.

Along with his involvement with City's second string, he also played three times for Farsley Celtic during a recent loan period with the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division North side.
