A week on from their headline-grabbing F.A Cup victory over Premier League leaders Chelsea, Parkinson's men return to Sky Bet League 1 action against Colchester.
The amazing victory for City over Jose Mourinho's Blues understandably led to the club receiving plaudits from all quarters and extensive coverage from the country's media.
Seven days after the stunning Stamford Bridge cup victory, the task now facing the Bantams is to keep that winning feeling going in front of an expected bumper crowd at Valley Parade this weekend.
Parkinson knows City have to move on from their Chelsea triumph but he still feels there are plenty of positive his side can take from that game and use against Colchester on Saturday.
He said: "While we quickly moved our focus this week onto Colchester, it was also important that we took time to savour the outstanding achievements of last Saturday.
"It was an amazing experience for everybody connected with the football club and the exposure Bradford City received before and after the game will have been great for the club and the city of Bradford as a whole.
"Confidence among the lads is naturally high and we have to use that to our advantage this Saturday.
"We have a lot of players playing on the top of their game. Equally though, we know that our work ethic must be right for the match and that we must show that same honesty, desire and commitment against Colchester on Saturday.
"If we do that, we know we have a team capable of winning football matches.
"We'll be coming up against a Colchester side fighting for their lives and with the bit between their teeth. They'll come here Saturday off the back of a win over Leyton Orient last weekend and we know we will have to better their work-rate.
"We have to be first to every ball once again.
"Colchester will have a determination about them and they will want to beat the same side that beat Chelsea. We've had that experience before and we are expecting that sort of reaction again.
"The players will be aware of that though."
