Fresh from victory at Fleetwood Town on Boxing Day, Parkinson's men welcome County to Valley Parade for their final game of 2014 just 48 hours later.
With the Fleetwood win extending the Bantams' recent impressive unbeaten stretch to eight games in all competitions - moving the club into the Play-Off positions in the process - Parkinson hopes City can call upon the support of a large number of Bradford fans at the weekend as they look to continue their fine current form.
Parkinson said: "The lads at bouncing at the moment because they know they played well (for the Fleetwood win) but we have to get everyone's feet back on the ground now.
"Preparations begin now for Sunday.
"We are playing against a team who are unbeaten away from home in the league this season and I'd love to see the ground as full as possible. It would be great if as many people as possible can turn out to support us.
"I think our performance and win at Fleetwood warrants that. We want the atmosphere really bouncing if we can.
"We want the supporters to cheer every tackle, cheer on every run, and really get behind the lads come Sunday.
"With this game coming so close to Boxing Day, both teams will be a bit leggy - there's no doubt about that - and the crowd can make a real difference as a result.
"I would really urge everyone listening to this try and get down to the ground on Sunday and support the lads. We need them to really create a tremendous atmosphere."
Given the fact that Sunday's Notts County game comes so close to City's Boxing Day trip to Fleetwood Town, Parkinson could be tempted into freshening things up for the Magpies match.
Having just seen his side pick up an impressive victory on the road though, Parkinson could equally look to stick with a winning side, leaving the Bantams boss with a pleasing selection dilemma on his hands.
Parkinson added: "We have been thinking about what we were going to do for this game.
"We will have discussions again on the way home from Fleetwood and during training on Saturday.
"We will also have a good look at Notts County and then pick the best team possible to try and get us the three points."
