CITY DRAWN AWAY TO CHORLEY/HALIFAX IN F.A CUP

27 October 2014

The Bantams are guaranteed to play a non-league side in the F.A Cup in just under two weeks time after being pitted away to either Chorley FC or FC Halifax Town in Monday's first round draw.

Vanarama Conference North side Chorley drew 0-0 with FC Halifax on Saturday in the original fourth qualifying round tie. The replay at Halifax's Shay Stadium will take place tomorrow (Tuesday 28 October 2014).

Chorley, managed by former Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City midfielder Garry Flitcroft, are currently third in their division.

FC Halifax - West Yorkshire neighbours of the Bantams - sit second in the Vanarama Conference at present.

Regardless of the result of Tuesday's replay, City's first round tie will see them play a side outside of the Football League for the first time since playing Kidderminster Harriers in an LDV Vans Trophy match back in 2005.

The match will also be City's first F.A Cup tie with non-league opposition since they entertained Burton Albion at Valley Parade 19 years ago.

The first round tie will take place over the weekend of 8/9 November 2014.
