Doyle back in contention

10 April 2014

Bantams midfielder Nathan Doyle could play some part in this Friday's televised clash at Rotherham United after his recent spell on the sidelines.

Doyle, who missed City's last four games after aggravating a groin problem during last month's away match with Shrewsbury Town, is now back in contention for a place in Phil Parkinson's match-day squad for the trip to New York Stadium.

James Hanson is expected to remain sidelined, however, as the striker continues to recover from a back problem.

Bantams assistant Steve Parkin said: "Nathan Doyle is doing really well and is back in the mix for selection.

"He certainly has a chance of being in the squad that we take to Rotherham.

"With regards James Hanson though, no, he won't be involved again most likely.

"We'll check again how he is as he progresses (from his back injury), but he certainly isn't expected to be fit for tomorrow (Friday) night."

Aaron Mclean (hamstring) and Chris Atkinson (thigh) are doubts for the match against Steve Evans' promotion contenders after picking up injuries in training during the week.

Andy Gray is available once again though after a recent spell with shingles.
