DAVIES' BIRTHDAY TRIM DRAWS NEAR!

16 December 2014

Take a good long look at the picture above of Bantams defender Andrew Davies with his magnificent beard in all its glory because, come Wednesday, it will all be coming off!

Davies decided back in August to go unshaven until his 30th birthday in a bid to raise money for BantamsTrek - a charity set up by City kit man John 'G-Man' Duckworth.

The popular centre half agreed to grow his beard over the four-month period in the hope that City fans would show their support towards him and donate what they could to Bantamstrek.

After last shaving his face following the pre-season friendly against Hartlepool United, Davies is now finally on the verge of the finishing line - his 30th birthday - Wednesday 17 December 2014.

The picture below shows what Andrew looked like before his sponsored beard growth - some difference!

Bantamstrek have helped to raise funds for the football club itself, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Bradford Burns Unit through a large number of various charity challenges, such as a sponsored walk from the Coral Windows Stadium to Lincoln City's Sincil Bank over the course of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2010/2011.
