Victories over Port Vale and Milton Keynes Dons at the Coral Windows Stadium ended the club's recent thirteen-game winless streak and set them up for the possibility of a hat-trick of home wins when Phil Parkinson's men entertain Stevenage this Saturday (1 March 2014).
With the Bantams drawing eight of those thirteen games without a win, Darby says Parkinson's squad knew they weren't a million miles off in terms of their preparations before games and their effort and application during them.
After recently collecting six points from six in just under five days though, Darby acknowledges that it has been nice to see their hard-work begin to be rewarded again with results.
Darby said: "It is an obvious thing to say, but wins breed confidence.
"We've had two big home games and two great wins. I don't think we did much different to what we were doing when we were on that run of drawing games though.
"We're hoping we can take this confidence into the Stevenage game now.
"The effort has always been there but it is nice to see the results coming as well.
"We talked before last week about putting a performance in over the course of the full 90 minutes.
"The same effort and commitment that we've always had remains on the training pitch but I think we managed to put two good performances into the games last week."
Opponents Stevenage will arrive at Valley Parade this weekend looking to deny City their third win on the spin as the Hertfordshire side aim to fight their way out of trouble.
Saturday's visitors currently occupy the bottom spot in the League 1 table, and Darby believes that will make them dangerous opponents as they scrap to get out of relegation danger.
The defender added: "As much as these two home wins have bred confidence, we have to keep our feet on the ground.
"We have to keep doing the basics right and working hard to earn more victories.
"Stevenage are down there fighting for their lives so we know they will be battling for everything.
"They will be wanting the points just as much as we are so we know it will be a tough game.
"We have to be on our game again and keep doing what we have been doing."
