City duo Luke James and Paul Anderson grabbed a pair of goals each, with Dylan Mottley-Henry also netting during the reserve fixture. 

Along with the two strikes to his name, James also had a hand in each of the other three goals for the Bantams.

Goalkeeper Brad Jones saw his first action in City colours in the match, the Australian playing the full ninety minutes at Valley Parade in front the watching Bantams boss Phil Parkinson.

First team squad members Nathan Clarke, Christopher Routis and Greg Leigh also featured in the game as well.

Anderson was given 71 minutes of the game, while Clarke, Routis, Leigh and James joined Jones in playing the whole game.

City opened the scoring in only the sixth minute of the contest when James wrestled for possession inside the box before smashing a fierce rising drive on the angled into the far top corner of Burton's goal.

Young defender James King's afternoon unfortunately ended after only seventeen minutes when he was caught late on the ankle and had to be replaced by apprentice centre half Kesi Omolokun.

Just a minute later though, City doubled their lead when Anderson swept home via James' low cross into the box.

Two became three for the Bantams shortly before the half hour break thanks to another James cross. 

Apprentice forward Reece Webb-Foster saw his close range effort repelled by Burton 'keeper Dean Lyness before Mottley-Henry drilled in the loose ball.

There was still time in the half for a fourth City goal when James played in Anderson and the winger calmly slotted past Lyness eight minutes before the interval.

With City hunting for more goals after the break, Mottley-Henry and Webb-Foster both saw efforts blocked by Lyness in the second period.

American forward Jon Lewis, who replaced Webb-Foster midway into the second half, and apprentice midfielder Danny Devine also had chances before James claimed City's fifth goal two minutes from the end.

James latched onto a loose ball inside the area before moving into shooting space and firing low past Lyness.
