CITY TO BEGIN THEIR JPT CAMPAIGN

2 September 2014

The Bantams travel to Oldham Athletic this Tuesday (2 September 2014) evening for their first round Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with fellow Sky Bet League 1 side Oldham Athletic.

The club would like to remind supporters that kick off at Oldham's newly-named SportsDirect.com Park is 7:30pm.

Should scores remain level after 90 minutes, the tie will then go straight to penalties. There will be NO extra time played.

Teams are only allowed to select from five substitutes in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, not the usual seven available in Football League, Capital One Cup and F.A Cup matches.

Competitions rules dictate that teams must also play their 'full available strength' in JPT ties.

This basically means six out of the club's top eleven appearances makers so far this season or six starters from the club's previous league fixture have to be included in the line up for the tie.

Finally, one new addition to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season will see referees use 'Vanishing Spray' during competition matches.

Most famously in use during this summer's World Cup, Vanishing Spray is used by referees to mark out where a wall should be standing ahead of a free-kick to stop the defending side from encroaching.
