CITY BACK FROM PORTUGAL TRIP

26 March 2015

The Bantams returned to their Apperley Bridge training ground this Thursday morning following their short training break in southern Portugal.

Phil Parkinson's men flew out to Faro last Sunday following the draw with Fleetwood Town before returning to England on Wednesday afternoon.

Having played thirteen matches in just seven weeks and with nine matches to be played in the next four weeks, City's troops took the opportunity to enjoy some relaxation time and recharge their batteries during the Portugal trip.

With this Saturday's fixture with Oldham Athletic at the Coral Windows Stadium on the horizon, however, the Bantams also took part in some training during their time abroad, with preparations for the game stepping up a notch now City are back on home soil.

Parkinson said: "It was an excellent trip.

"It gave us the opportunity to get the lads away together as a group. We managed to get some training in and the lads enjoyed some time to relax as well.

"Given the fact we had no midweek game this week, it was the perfect time to get the group away and give them a bit of a break following the extremely busy fixture schedule we've had over the last couple of months.

"The group needed a chance to switch off for a bit because of the busy schedule we've had and the games we still have to come.

"The lads were all a real credit to the club while they were over there.

"We are back in full training today (Thursday), however, and we will be ready for action and raring to go on Saturday afternoon."

Parkinson confirmed that Andrew Davies trained in Portugal with the rest of the squad, increasing his chances of being available for selection for the Oldham fixture following a recent arm injury.
