CHRISTMAS JUMPERS GALORE AT CITY!

20 December 2014

Over thirteen hundred City supporters turned out in their festive jumpers this Saturday to cheer on the Bantams during their game with Scunthorpe United and to take part in a record-breaking attempt.

The club had asked fans during this week to turn up for the Scunthorpe match in their Christmas jumpers in a bid to break a World Record for the number worn in one area at one particular time.

The previous record stood at 639 people but the club believe that at least 1,308 fans worn their Christmas jumpers at the Coral Windows Stadium this Saturday.

The number of 1,308 means it would appear that City have smashed the existing World Record but the club will still be seeking to get this officially verified.

The 1,308 figure comes from the amount of special rattle tickets brought by City supporters before the Scunthorpe fixture.

When fans arrived at the game this Saturday wearing a Christmas jumper, they were given a raffle ticket as they entered the ground.

At full-time, supporters taking part were then asked to stay in their seats for a photograph before the club conducted a raffle draw to see which lucky fan won a free season ticket for next season.

The winning ticket was (White) number 596 (ref AS1P DK4X)

The raffle ticket stubs and photographs will be used to help confirm whether or not the record has indeed been broken. As part of the event, the club also asked supporters to donate £1.00 to bucket collections around the ground, with all funds going to Bradford Hospitals Children’s charity.

Supporters can still get involved by tweeting pictures of themselves in their Christmas jumpers to @officialbantams using the hashtag #GetYourJumperOn
