Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has acknowledged that he may have to make some changes to his starting line up for Tuesday's visit to Morecambe in the Capital One Cup.

Parkinson's men face up to Sky Bet League 2 side Morecambe this Tuesday at their Globe Arena in the first round of this season's Capital One Cup - a competition City, of course, famously reached the final of around eighteen months ago.

Both Billy Knott and Billy Clarke are doubtful for the game after picking up knocks during Saturday's dramatic opening day win over Coventry City, while Gary Liddle and Andrew Davies are also being monitored after sitting out training on Monday.

Jordan Pickford will definitely miss out as parent club Sunderland will not allow him to play in cup competitions this season.

With Ben Williams expected to obtain his international clearance ahead of the tie, it means that he and fellow shot-stopper Matt Urwin are likely to do battle for City's vacant goalkeeper's jersey at Morecambe in Pickford's absence.

Despite the talk of changes though, Parkinson is adamant that City are going to Morecambe up for the challenge and looking to progress.

Parkinson said: "We have a few knocks from Saturday - nothing serious - but Billy Knott has got a whack on the calf and Billy Clarke had a slight problem with his hip.

"They are not major things but they are issues that we will be looking at.

"We've done some work today (Monday) on the general shape of the team and how we want to play in the game but we've said to the lads that we will pick the team when we get there tomorrow (Tuesday).

"We want to sleep on these selection decisions and we want to give ourselves as much time as possible to get these players with question marks on them fit for the game.

"The reason we want to do this is because we want to select a side that will give us the same sort of energy levels we showed on Saturday (vs Coventry City).

"As we know from our own experiences, this is a tremendous competition and we want to progress in it.

"It is a two-fold thing from us for tomorrow (Tuesday). Can we progress in the cup and can we put in another positive performance like we did last Saturday - we will certainly be looking to do both."

Possible changes to Parkinson's line up could lead to City debuts for the likes of Filipe Morais and Mo Shariff, while Oliver McBurnie could also be involved after a recent hamstring problem.

Lewis Clarkson is still definitely out, however, with his own hamstring injury. Christopher Routis will miss out again as well as he still waits to receive his international clearance.
