Tackling theft from cars

13 March 2014

Bradford City and the Bradford City Supporters’ Board joined forces at the start of the season to warn supporters that thefts from cars parked around the stadium had increased following the club’s promotion to the Sky Bet League 1.

At recent games, West Yorkshire Police have undertaken patrols during games to try and reduce the number of car thefts which are taking place while games are taking place.  This has had some success but the Police have asked the Club to reiterate the message which can be summed up as “help us to help you by not making your vehicle a target”.

During the patrols, the Police have noticed a lot of vehicles in which sat-navs, sat-nav cradles, chargers, coats, bags and even cash have been left in plain view.  It is best not to leave these types of items in your car, but if you have no choice, please put everything in the boot or glove compartment, in other words, completely out-of-sight.

The Police patrols will continue at future games but please help yourselves to avoid being a victim of this type of criminal behaviour.
