A double from man of the moment Nahki Wells saw the Bermudian beat a club scoring record and hand City a memorable victory over Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United in the process.

In front of a vocal bumper crowd of over 18,000, Wells netted once in each half to give Phil Parkinson's men the bragging rights following an entertaining White Rose derby contest.

Wells' first goal of the afternoon came on the stroke of half time when he twisted and turned Blades defender Neil Collins before finishing neatly with a low angled drive into the far bottom corner.

That goal saw him break a club record for scoring in the most consecutive competitive matches for City. After leveling the previous record with a goal at Vale Park last weekend, Wells' opener made it a magical eighth in eighth for the star striker.

United tried to respond in the second half but City's defence, led by the immense Andrew Davies, was having none of it.

Despite United's neat passing style of football, they were finding it hard to get through the Bantams' defences, while Wells and substitute Kyel Reid in particular were giving the visitors' own back-line something to think about when City sprung forward.

With only three minutes of normal time remaining and City looking set to hang on for a morale-boosting victory, Wells was on hand again to seal the points for Parkinson's side.

United 'keeper George Long could only parry a fierce rising drive from sub Raffaele De Vita and Hanson, playing despite a fractured hand, was on hand to head the loose ball into the path of Wells.

The Bermudian's volley for goal wasn't cleanly struck but it managed to wrong-foot Long and find the corner in front of bouncing Kop stand.

FT: Bradford City 2 Sheffield United 0
90+3min: A free-kick from Wells from just outside the area hits the wall before deflecting behind.
90+2min:YELLOW CARD - Ravenhill is booked for a foul after referee Foy had let play go on before pulling back the midfielder.
90min: There will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the match.
89min: Wells tries his luck from the edge of the area after the ball falls into his path but his rising drive sails well over Long's crossbar.
88min; SUB - The Bantams now bring on Ricky Ravenhill for Doyle.
87min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bradford City 2 Sheffield United 0 - It's that man Wells again! Long manages to save a fierce angled drive from De Vita but the ball still loops up into the path of Hanson. The giant striker heads the ball into Wells' path and the Bermudian scuffs a volley into the corner, wrong-footing Long in the process.
84min: Murphy moves into shooting space just outside City's penalty box but his left-footed drive sails comfortably wide of McLaughlin's goal.
82min: SUB - Sheffield United now bring on Chris Porter for Sean McGinty
81min: YELLOW CARD - Maguire is booked now for blocked off Wells as the attacker looked to turn away from him over by the far corner flag.
80min: YELLOW CARD - After initially allowing play to continue despite a late tackle by Meredith on Murphy, referee Foy eventually books the City left back when there is next a break in proceedings.
78min: SUB - The Bantams bring on Raffaele De Vita for Thompson.
77min: Coady's low cross-come-shot from a wide position outside the area is simple enough for McLaughlin to gather up.
75min: Harry Maguire heads wide of goal while positioned not too far off City's far post following McMahon's wide free-kick delivery into the area.
72min: Flynn's cushioned header into the path of Ironside following Conor Coady's ball into the box gives the young striker a clear sight of goal. Struggling to reach the ball though, Ironside can only fire well over on the stretch.
71min: City see another mild appeal for a penalty turned down when Thompson appears to be nudged in the back while racing onto a pass from Wells. The contact seemed to be definitely there but it is debatable as to whether it was enough to warrant Thompson going down.
65min: SUB - Kyel Reid is brought on for Yeates.
64min: McLaughlin has to back-pedal enough to be in a position to tip over a drive from Flynn from around 20 yards out after the effort had looped up off the leg of Stephen Darby, who had tried to tackle Flynn.
59min: Long comes to just outside his area to beat Hanson to a clearance forward by McArdle. When the 'keeper does get to the ball, however, he can only slice his kick horribly into the air. Luckily for Long though, Collins is on hand to clear with his 'keeper stranded out of his goal.
49min; SUB - Brandy is replaced by Joe Ironside for the Blades.
47min: From a wide position about 30 yards from goal, Yeates curls in a flighted cross-come-shot that whistles past the lurking Hanson and Long's far post by not too much.
46min: The Bantams restart the match.
HT SUB - Sheffield United bring on Ryan Flynn for McFadzean before the start of the second half.
45min: There will be one minute of time added on at the end of the first half.
45min:GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bradford City 1 Sheffield United 0 - Wells has the record! The Bermudian nets for the eighth consecutive game - a new club record - when he turns away from Collins before beating Long with a fine low angled drive into the far bottom corner from around twelve yards out.
44min: Long flings himself to his right to push away a direct free-kick from around 25 yards out by Yeates.
40min: After picking up the ball from Nathan Doyle around 25 yards from goal, Yeates turns before firing in a rising drive that Long can watch sail over his bar.
39min: Wells tests Long with a low drive from a couple of yards outside the area after Neil Collins' attempted pass out of defence hits off referee Chris Foy before bouncing kindly into the path of the Bermudian.
39min: Jamie Murphy's curling effort from just outside the area is straight at McLaughlin.
38min: Penalty shouts go up around the home areas of the Coral Windows Stadium as an attempted cross from Meredith appears to hit McFadzean close to his arm inside the area. Despite City's protests though, the tight call is waved away.
32min: A Yeates delivery into the area following a short City corner causes all sorts of panic in the United defence. Both Hanson and Wells each have at least one chance of trying to get a shot in on goal but the visitors eventually manage to clear their lines after a scramble in their penalty box.
29min: United nearly catch out City via a swift attack forward. With the numbers slightly in favour of the visitors, Taylor plays the ball into the path of Brandy, who is just outside City's penalty area. As he strides into the area and looks to shoot though, a combination of a poor touch from the United winger and the presence of Rory McArdle means the ball eventually ends up rolling through to a grateful McLaughlin.
27min: From a wide angle just inside City's area, Febian Brandy cuts inside onto his left foot and strikes for goal. His angled drive is well struck but McLaughlin is able to push it away.
20min: Yeates' flighted free-kick from wide misses the head of Andrew Davies by mere inches as the City centre half flings himself at the ball in the middle. James Hanson by the far post tries to get a connection on the ball as well but is eventually fizzes out over on the far side for a goal-kick.
14min: CHANCE - Long shows great reflexes to push away a prod for goal from around twelve yards out by Wells after James Meredith had picked out the Bantams' striker in the middle with a low pass across the box.
12min: Nathan Doyle looks for something special with a speculative half-volley from roughly 25 yards out but his looping effort sails a fair distance wide of Long's goal.
10min: Tony McMahon's direct free-kick around 25 yards out lacks the power to trouble McLaughlin, who gathers with relative ease by his near post.
7min: Wells is played into space inside the United area with a clever ball over the top by Yeates. Wells, positioned wide of Long's goal and near to the byline, cuts to play the ball forwards but his connection is poor and the ball dribbles out for a goal-kick.
3min: Nahki Wells drills a low effort from just outside the area a yard or so wide of George Long's near post.
2min: CHANCE - Jon McLaughlin makes an important early save to prevent Callum McFadzean from giving the visitors the lead. A well-timed pass from inside his own half by Lyle Taylor finds the United attacker in behind City's pushed-up defence and through on McLaughlin's goal. Having picked up the ball around forty yards from goal, McFadzean races into the area but his low side-foot is repelled by a smart stop from the Bantams shot-stopper.
0min: With a huge roar from The Kop, Sheffield United get the game underway. City will attack to the Sheffield United fans in the T.L Dallas Stand end in the first half.
2:57pm: With the Coral Windows Stadium full of noise and colour, both City and Sheffield United come out to a tremendous reception ahead of this eagerly-anticipated Yorkshire derby.
