Despite dominating virtually the whole game, Phil Parkinson's men looked set to have to settle for a share of the spoils until McHugh rose highest in the second minute of injury time to connect with Gary Jones' corner delivery and send a looping header into the far corner.

The goal sparked wild scenes of celebrations on and off the pitch as McHugh's thumping winner gave the Bantams their first victory since the end of November.

The corner delivery from City's skipper is flicked on by Carl McHugh before Hanson steals in at the far post, only to see his close range effort blocked by Neal. With the ball still bouncing around in Vale's area, Reach sees his first effort blocked before his second, a delightful chip, is tipped over the bar by a back-tracking Neal.16min:

McLaughlin races out of his goal to beat Ben Williamson to a ball forward but the 'keeper can only proceed in driving his kick into the middle of the pitch. With McLaughlin stranded out of his goal,  Chris Lines takes aim from all of 40 yards out but a recovering Rory McArdle is on hand to track back and header clear before the effort from distance can drop in.9min:

Reach's delightful ball over the top plays Hanson into space over by City's left channel. The striker, who is positioned inside the area but wide of goal, takes on the shot first time and his left-footed half-volley flashes across Chris Neal's goal and just wide of his far post.7min:
