Following a keenly-contested opening forty-five, Phil Parkinson's men opened the scoring midway into the second period when Clarke pounced to convert from close range after City had kept a corner from substitute Billy Knott alive inside Oldham's box.

With the Bantams looking in control of proceedings as the game went into injury time, Parkinson's men then made certain of the points in the third minute of over-time when Clarke netted his second from just inside the box after Jon Stead's lay-off.

The only downside to City's morale-boosting win was the loss of Andrew Davies to an apparent hamstring injury early into the first period.

56min: A touching moment around the Coral Windows Stadium as the visiting Oldham supporters began a round of applause inside the ground by singing 'stand up for the 56' in recognition of the 56 supporters who lost their lives in the Valley Parade fire disaster nearly 30 years ago.

55min: Mike Jones' cross into the area is contested by the powerful duo of Forte and MacKenzie before the ball breaks free inside the box. Wilkinson and Carl Winchester look to get onto the loose ball, with the latter firing over the bar with a rising strike from just inside the area.

27min: YELLOW CARD - Gary Liddle is booked for getting in the way of Connor Brown's free-kick and blocking the right-back's attempted pass as he looked to take a quick set-piece just inside Oldham's half of the pitch.

22min: Mark Yeates' cross-come-shot from just wide of the penalty area over on City's left flank drifts over Coleman's out-stretched hand before pinging off the top of his crossbar and out for a goal-kick.

17min: SUB - Sure enough, Davies has to be replaced by fellow centre half Gary MacKenzie.

16min: Andrew Davies is on the ground in some pain after appearing to pull up sharply while chasing after Forte following Luke Woodland's ball forward. On first glance, it seems Davies has damaged his calf or hamstring.

14min: Stead's inviting cross into the middle from the byline is headed over by James Hanson from around eight yards out.

12min: Mathew Sadler's hanging cross towards the far post nearly drops into the path of the lurking Jonathan Forte deep inside City's penalty area but Rory McArdle is on hand to vitally kick clear.

8min: Stephen Darby's long throw-in into the area eventually drops into the path of Christopher Routis and the Frenchman fires a low drive narrowly past Coleman's near post with a first time snap-shot.

8min: Billy Clarke goes for goal from around 20 yards out and his dipping half-volley has to be pushed away by Coleman to stop the effort from dropping into his goal.

5min: Jon Stead's hanging cross from the byline clips the top of Joel Coleman's crossbar but the linesman on the near-side had already flagged to say the ball had swung out of play before hitting the woodwork.

4min: Carl Winchester plays Conor Wilkinson into shooting space inside City's penalty area. Wilkinson turns back onto his favoured left-foot but the striker's drive flashes wide of Ben Williams' far post.
