A week and a half since their last match, McCall's men return to action at the Northern Commercials Stadium against Sky Bet League Two side Cambridge looking for a place in the last sixteen of the competition.
Any victory against Cambridge would also pocket the Bantams an extra £20,000 and move them a step closer to a trip to Wembley in the grand final.
A visit to the home of English football might still be a bit off at the moment but McCall insists City must be fully focused and ready to find top gear in order to keep their hopes alive in the trophy.
McCall said: "When you look at this trophy, the bottom line is that it gives us the opportunity to possibly play at Wembley.
"Whether you are a young player or an experienced pro, there is no better place to play your football.
"Cambridge will be full of confidence after beating another side from our division - Coventry City - in the FA Cup on Sunday.
"They didn't just scrape through either - they were convincing 4-0 winners.
"I'm sure they will come to us buoyed by that result and looking to put in a similar performance.
"Wednesday's game is knock-out football - we have to treat it like a semi-final or a final.
"If we under-perform in any way, we run the risk of losing the match.
"Cambridge have shown already recently that they can produce good performances and get results against teams higher up so we will have to be on the top of our game.
"We have players desperate to get out there, especially after our recent mini-break. Winning is a habit and we want to get back into that mind-set."
McCall is likely to make some changes from the side that started at Swindon Town in the league last time out, although the City chief insists he will still be fielding a strong team for the tie.
After playing 45 minutes recently in the reserves, fit-again Tony McMahon is scheduled to feature at some point during the game.
McMahon hasn't been involved in City's first team since the end of August due to a troublesome thigh injury.
McCall added: "We will mix the team up a bit but we will still put out a side which we feel is capable of beating Cambridge and progressing.
"Tony played in the reserves recently and has been training well so he will play a part in the match."
