Second half goals from Mark Marshall and Charlie Wyke at a sunny Gigg Lane secured the fifth win in seven for McCall's men and further strengthened the Bantams' current position in the play-off places.
The victory - played out in front of over 2,500 visiting supporters - kept City in fourth spot in the Sky Bet League One table, with Fleetwood Town's loss at Oldham Athletic meaning the Bantams are now only behind the third-placed Cod Army on goals scored alone.
McCall said: "We said to the players before the game not to get frustrated if it took us until the second half before we got on top, and so it proved.
"Our last few victories now have come from goals in the second half, and that shows the mentality and attitude of the players.
"We know Marshy (Mark Marshall) has that ability with his left or right foot, so that is why we give him license to roam.
"I was a little bit annoyed with him in the first period that he didn't shoot when he had an opportunity on his left foot.
I told him at half time to have a go next time if he gets it on his left, so I'm taking a bit of the credit for his goal!
"The timing of Charlie's goal was certainly nice (six minutes from the end). There have not been many times this season that we've been winning by more than one goal away from home, so it was nice to get that two-goal gap.
"I thought Charlie deserved that goal as well for his efforts.
"To get the win, a clean sheet and to be able to send a packed away end home happy in the sun makes it a brilliant afternoon's work. This is a really good three points for us.
"I didn't realise we were getting as much of the ground as we did. When I heard the noise as I came out of the tunnel for the game, I thought it was the Bury supporters.
"It was a brilliant sight to see it was actually coming from the away end.
"We have some good momentum and belief at the moment but we won't be getting carried away. Come Monday, we will be focused on the next game against Oxford.
"We still have four big games left but this is a big win for us."
