DOUBLE CELEBRATION FOR CITY AT BRADFORD SPORTS AWARDS

3 March 2017

The Bantams had more than one reason to celebrate this Thursday evening after collecting two honours at the Bradford Sports Awards.

City won the Team/Club of the Year title, while the Young Disability Sportsperson of the Year award went to Bradford City Disability Team member Toby Hunter (pictured right).

After reaching the League One Play-Offs last season, the Bantams - who also currently sit in the top six in the division this year as well - beat off competition from the likes of Bradford Bulls, Keighley Cougars and Bradford Park Avenue to win the team honour.

Bantams boss Stuart McCall was on hand to accept the team award on behalf of the Club.

After a successful inaugural event in 2016, the Bradford Sports Awards returned this year for a second time.

Presented by BBC broadcaster Tanya Arnold, the awards took place at The Bradford Hotel and were sponsored by City's community partner, Provident.

This prestigious event, brought to you by Active Bradford, chose to celebrate the inspiring achievements of Bradford’s sporting heroes in 2016, from our professional sports clubs and future stars in the making, through to the grassroots volunteers who make sport happen every day across our district.
