CLARKE CONFIRMED FOR CHELTENHAM

16 January 2017

Bantams assistant Kenny Black has confirmed that attacker Billy Clarke will make up part of City's squad for Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy round three tie at Cheltenham Town.

Clarke has been out of action for just over two months with a calf problem but the Irishman is now set to make a welcome return at Cheltenham's LCI Rail Stadium.

With City likely to name a strong side against the Sky Bet League Two side, James Meredith has been passed fit after taking a knock late on in Saturday's defeat Shrewsbury Town.

Only Alex Jones and Alex Gilliead won't make the journey south to Gloucestershire from those who featured at Shrewsbury - the pair are both cup-tied having previously featured in the Checkatrade Trophy this season.

Black said: "James Meredith is fine - everyone came through fine from Saturday (vs Shrewsbury).

"The only downside is with Alex Jones and Alex Gilliead. They are both ineligible so they miss out.

"The rest of the group will be the same from the weekend, with the pleasant addition of Billy Clarke.

"It is great to welcome Billy back and to have him training with us once again.

"He has been desperate to get back so he is definitely a welcome addition to the squad."
