BIG MATCH PREVIEW - MILLWALL (HOME)

20 January 2017

MILLWALL (HOME), Sky Bet League One, Northern Commercials Stadium, Saturday 21 January 2017, kick off 3:00pm

Following success in the Checkatrade Trophy at Cheltenham Town in midweek, Stuart McCall's Bantams return to league action this Saturday by entertaining Millwall at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

City's victory over Cheltenham was the third in their last four matches in all competitions, although McCall's men will be keen to get back to winning ways in the league after defeat at Shrewsbury Town last weekend.

Opponents Millwall are currently in eighth place in the League One table, four points off the play-off places.

The Lions are unbeaten in their last five league games, winning three home games on the trot at the end of the 2016 before claiming back-to-back away draws at neighbours AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic.

In between those two London derbies, Neil Harris' men also claimed an impressive 3-0 victory over Premier League side Bournemouth at The Den in the Emirates FA Cup.

Team News

Bradford City
City boss Stuart McCall says he now has a fully fit squad to choose from for this Saturday's encounter with Millwall.

Josh Cullen has been passed fit despite taking a whack in Tuesday's Cheltenham game, while Billy Clarke is also in contention after successfully making a return from injury in the same game.

Clarke had previously been sidelined for two months with a calf problem but the Irishman featured as a second half substitute at the LCI Rail Stadium.

Filipe Morais could also be involved at the weekend in some part after returning to training this week.

Recent recruits Alex Jones and Alex Gilliead are both available to McCall once again after being cup-tied in midweek

Millwall
The Lions could be expected to include new loan signings Jed Wallace and Jake Cooper in their match squad for their trip north to the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Winger Wallace and central defender Cooper both put pen to paper this Thursday, having signed from Championship sides Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading respectively.

For Wallace, the loan spell will be his second with Millwall after spending a period playing with the Lions last season.

Millwall have been fairly consistent with their team selection in recent weeks, but the likes of David Worrall and Shane Ferguson could be options for Lions boss Neil Harris should he wish to make changes.

Previous Encounters
There has certainly been plenty of recent history between the two sides, with Saturday's fixture being the eighth game in just over two years involving City and Millwall.

City's match at The Den earlier this season in Sky Bet League One finished 1-1. A Byron Webster own goal gave the Bantams the half time lead but a fine finish from Joe Martin after the break secured a share of the spoils for the home side.

Millwall's previous visit to Valley Parade, of course, came last May in the play-off semi-finals when the Londoners claimed an important 3-1 first leg success.

City won the home match between the two sides during the regular season 1-0 thanks to second half winner from Steven Davies.

The Bantams' long run of recent matches between themselves and Millwall started with an FA Cup third round tie during the 2014/2015 campaign.

Following an entertaining 3-3 draw at The Den in the original tie, City ran out convincing 4-0 winners in the replay to book a trip to Chelsea at the fourth round stage.
